There was never any user on my computer named Patti. I have two user accounts on my computer, never have been Patti. So how is my MSDOS prompt keep telling me that? Is somewhere in my system this username? Is there any way to remove this?1 person needs an answerI do too

You are discovering the difference between a "user name" and a "profile". When a new user is created, a profile is also created with a matching name. Later on, the user name can be changed/renamed to something else. This changes the user name but the profile name does not change. So apparently the user that you are having problems with was originally created as "Pattie" then later renamed. This does not harm anything; but if you want to remove this, it is not horribly difficult -- but you may have to create yet another user name in the process or rename your current user name before you begin....To repair this, pretend that your current username (or "Pattie" user profile) is corrupt or damaged. Then follow the steps in the following article:"How to recover the damaged user profile in Windows XP" < http://support.microsoft.com/kb/555473 >HTH, JW
